Live in Brandon

Brandon, VT is a classic New England town conveniently located between Rutland, the third largest city in Vermont and Middlebury, a major cultural center. Our two neighboring towns are congested: traffic lights, strip malls, and all the other outfittings of modern America. Brandon is different. A compact and walkable downtown filled with historic architecture, the natural world found in the Neshobe River as it cascades through downtown, a significantly lower cost-of-living and a tightly-knit community of residents striving to make Brandon a better place through a host of non-profit organizations.

Our two public schools, The Neshobe School K-8 and Otter Valley Union High School, are dedicated to the development of character, competence, creativity and community.  From the Neshobe School students continue on to public high schools of their choice at Otter Valley Union or opt for State of Vermont School Choice. As proof of our diversity, we have an alternative educational resource available, The Moosalamoo Center, the only experiential education school run by a public school system in the State of Vermont.
