The boards, commissions, and committees of the Town of Brandon conduct their work in compliance with Vermont Open Meeting Law.

If you believe a violation of Vermont Open Meeting Law has occurred:  Open Meeting Law complaints directed to the Town of Brandon must be filed with the Town Manager (shopkins@townofbrandon.com), Selectboard Chair (dbailey@townofbrandon.com), or Town Clerk (sgage@townofbrandon.com) by e-mail or mailed or delivered to the attention of one of these officials at the Brandon Town Office, 49 Center Street, Brandon, VT 05733.  A blank form is attached, but you need not fill out this form as long as what you submit contains substantially the same information requested in the form.

Open Meeting Law Violation Complaint Form

Upon receipt of the written notice of alleged violation, the public body will respond publicly to the alleged violation within 10 calendar days by either acknowledging the violation of this subchapter and stating an intent to cure the violation within 14 calendar days; or by stating that the public body has determined that no violation has occurred and that no cure is necessary.
Failure of a public body to respond to a written notice of alleged violation within 10 calendar days will be treated as a denial of the violation for purposes of enforcement of the Open Meeting Law.
